HHe brings practitioner depth and cultural fluency to conversations about psychedelic integration, preparation, mental health, spiritual healing, and long-term transformation.

On April 18, 2026—the eve of Bicycle Day—the federal government accelerated psychedelic-assisted therapies at a time when 61.5 million Americans are already living with mental health conditions. The infrastructure to support these experiences safely does not yet exist at scale. Sergio Nikita Lialin has spent years working in that gap. His book, Healing the Modern Soul, offers a map for the moment now arriving.

 AUTHOR BIO (LONG)

Sergio Nikita Lialin is an author and preparation, guidance, and integration specialist working at the intersection of psychedelic science, indigenous-informed frameworks, and contemporary healing modalities. Drawing on work in Internal Family Systems, somatic practice, NLP, and plant medicine integration, he guides individuals through the terrain that clinical treatment alone does not address—the preparation before the experience, the experience itself, and the integration that follows. His book, Healing the Modern Soul, is a 432-page synthesis of spiritual awakening, breathwork, indigenous wisdom, and the emerging science of psychedelic healing. It arrives at a moment of cultural shift, as policy accelerates access to medicines that have been held within traditional contexts for generations, and offers both philosophical grounding and practical pathways for navigating that change. Lialin attended the Psychedelic Culture Conference 2026 and works with individuals and groups navigating the intersection of ancient practice and modern science. He is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and available for interviews, speaking engagements, and media appearances.

BOOK DESCRIPTION (LONG)

Healing the Modern Soul is a 432-page work written for a moment of cultural transition—when science is rapidly advancing psychedelic therapies, and millions are approaching these experiences without adequate preparation, guidance, or integration support. The book explores spiritual awakening, breathwork, indigenous wisdom, and the convergence of psychedelic science with living tradition. It is not a book about substances. It is a map back to the self—grounded in the understanding that healing is not the correction of a broken person, but the remembering of a whole one. “You were never broken. You are remembering who you are.”

 INTERVIEW TOPICS

1. The Integration Gap  Why fast-tracked access to psychedelic medicine without trained facilitators and integration support is not progress — it is risk. What the infrastructure gap actually looks like on the ground, and what it will take to close it.

2. You Are Not Broken  The paradigm shift at the heart of psychedelic healing — from symptom management to genuine remembering. Why the mental health system's fundamental assumption about human beings is wrong, and what the medicines are revealing instead.

3. Indigenous Wisdom and the Risk of a Second Colonization  What gets lost when psychedelic science arrives without honoring the traditions that held these medicines for millennia. How to hold both the clinical and the sacred without erasing either.

4. What Preparation Actually Means  The specific work that happens before a psychedelic experience — and why most people arriving at these medicines are not ready. What IFS, somatic work, and indigenous-informed ceremony bring to the preparation process that clinical protocols alone cannot.

5. The Generation in Crisis  Nearly half of Gen Z has a mental health diagnosis. What that number reveals about the failure of the current system — and why psychedelic medicine is not a cure but a doorway that still requires a guide.

6. The Global Moment  How the Trump executive order is likely to trigger regulatory cascades worldwide, what that means for the international psychedelic landscape, and why the most important question every country will face is the same: who holds the space?

7. Healing as Homecoming  The spiritual and philosophical dimension of what psychedelic healing actually is — not treatment, not therapy, but a return to something the person has always been. What that means in practice, and why it changes everything about how we approach mental health.

SAMPLE QUESTIONS

The federal government just fast-tracked psychedelic medicine. Why are you not simply celebrating?

You say people are not broken — they are remembering who they are. What does that mean in practice, sitting with an actual client?

What happens when someone takes a psychedelic medicine without preparation? What does that look like?

You work with IFS, somatic practice, and indigenous ceremony. How do those three things fit together in a single session or process?

What is the one thing missing from every policy conversation about psychedelic medicine right now?

You attended the Psychedelic Culture Conference days before the executive order dropped. What were people saying in the rooms that never made it into the press coverage?

Who is this book for — and who might think it's for them but it isn't?

What does it mean to you personally that this moment is happening right now?
